The Central University of Andhra Pradesh (CUAP) was established in 2018 as part of the Government of India’s commitment to addressing the aspirations of the people of Andhra Pradesh following the state’s bifurcation. Located in Anantapuramu, a region with deep historical roots in the Vijayanagara Empire, the university stands in an area known for its rich folklore, mineral resources, and flourishing sericulture and horticulture industries. Additionally, Anantapuramu has become a growing industrial hub, with global automotive giant KIA Motors establishing operations nearby.

The university aims to redefine higher education by offering innovative, interdisciplinary programs that cater to social and cultural relevance.
