The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design & Manufacturing, Kurnool (IIITDMK) was established following the approval of the Institutes of Information Technology Act, 2014. Officially announced by the Government of India, the institute was set up to fulfill commitments under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, 2014. Fully funded by the Ministry of Education, IIITDM Kurnool commenced its academic journey in August 2015 with the assistance of its mentor institute, IIITDM Kancheepuram, operating from the latter’s campus initially.
