Krishna University

Krishna University, located in Rudravaram, Andhra Pradesh, was established in 2008 following the recommendations of the Knowledge Commission. It was founded through Andhra Pradesh Act No. 4 of 1991 and was officially sanctioned by G.O. Ms. No. 89 Higher Education (U.E.II) on 25th June 2008, followed by G.O. Ms. No. 109 on 14th July 2008. The foundation stone for the university was laid on 23rd April 2008 by the then Chief Minister Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, marking a significant step in expanding higher education opportunities in the region. A feasibility study led by Prof. K. Viyyanna Rao confirmed Machilipatnam as the suitable location for the university, as it serves as the headquarters of Krishna District.

Krishna University offers a diverse range of undergraduate and professional courses. It provides Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.), and Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degrees, along with professional programs like Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Science and Electronics and Communication Engineering. Scholarships available at Krishna University

Krishna University, Machilipatnam, offers various scholarships and financial aid programs to support students in their academic pursuits. The scholarships are categorized into government-sponsored schemes and institutional scholarships to assist students from economically weaker backgrounds and meritorious students.

Government Scholarships
The university facilitates government scholarships provided by the Andhra Pradesh government, including:

1. Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) Scheme – Aimed at SC, ST, BC, EBC, Kapu, minority, and disabled students, this scheme covers tuition fees, maintenance charges, books, and other incidental expenses.
   
   
2. Jagananna Vidya Deevena – Offers full tuition fee reimbursement for eligible UG and PG students from economically weaker sections (EWS). The scholarship amount is directly transferred to students’ bank accounts.
   
   
3. Jagananna Vasathi Deevena – Provides hostel and mess fee reimbursement for eligible students from SC, ST, BC, and EWS categories.

Institutional Scholarships

1. Merit Cum Means Scholarship – Sponsored by donors, this scholarship is awarded to students with outstanding academic performance and financial need. Selection is based on semester-wise academic records and financial documents.

Application and Selection Process
Students can apply for government scholarships through the Principal’s Office, while institutional scholarships require online and offline applications. Selection is based on academic merit and financial status. The scholarship amounts are directly disbursed to students’ bank accounts.
