Yogi Vemana University, named after the esteemed philosopher, poet, and yogi Vemana, was established in 2006 by an Act of the A.P. State Legislature. Formerly the Sri Venkateswara University Postgraduate Centre, it was elevated to a university to foster a value-based education system and quality research.
