Gauhati University

Gauhati University (GU) is one of the leading institutions of higher education in Northeast India, widely recognized for its excellence in postgraduate studies. It has consistently ranked among the top institutions in the NIRF rankings and holds an NAAC A+ accreditation. In the NIRF 2024 rankings, GU secured the highest position among all universities in Northeast India. Known for its diverse academic programs, the university has been honored with the prestigious NSS Award for 2019-20, making it one of only two universities in the country to receive this recognition. The award was presented to the Vice Chancellor and NSS Cell Coordinator by the President of India on September 24, 2021, at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
