Goa University

Goa University, established under the Goa University Act of 1984, began its journey on June 1, 1985. It is located on the scenic Taleigao Plateau, overlooking the Zuari estuary. Spread across 402 acres, the campus boasts state-of-the-art infrastructure, including faculty blocks, a library, sports facilities, student hostels, and advanced internet connectivity.

The university evolved from the Centre of Post-Graduate Instruction and Research (CPIR), established by the University of Mumbai post-Goa’s liberation. It offers diverse undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs across ten schools. Following the National Education Policy 2020, the university provides multiple entry and exit options and encourages online learning through platforms like SWAYAM.

International Conference Participation:

This scheme provides financial assistance to postgraduate, M.Phil., and Ph.D. students to present research papers at international conferences. It covers travel and maintenance costs, encouraging students to conduct original research, present their findings, and publish in reputed journals. Attending these conferences allows students to interact with global scholars and gain valuable exposure. Applications are processed through the Vice-Chancellor's office.

Research Studentship:

Designed for full-time Ph.D. students, this funding is limited and distributed based on available resources. Applications are typically invited at the start of the academic year, with awards granted in the first semester after evaluation.

Earn While You Learn:

This program supports students without scholarships or fellowships by offering hourly-paid campus jobs, allowing them to earn while contributing to university activities.
