Jiwaji University

Jiwaji University in Gwalior was established on May 23, 1964, under M.P. Government Ordinance No. 15 of 1963. The foundation stone was laid on December 11, 1964, by Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was the President of India at the time. The university is situated on a vast 225-acre campus at Naulakha Parade Ground. This land was generously donated by the Scindia family, particularly Kailashwasi Maharaja Shrimant Jiwaji Rao Scindia and the late Rajmata Shrimati Vijayaraje Scindia.

The university was named in honor of Kailashwasi Shrimant Jiwaji Rao Scindia as a tribute to his legacy. The institution upholds its guiding principle through its motto, "Vidyaya Prapyate Tejah," which is embedded in its emblem. Over the years, Jiwaji University has grown into a prominent center for higher education, offering diverse academic programs. It continues to uphold its mission of fostering knowledge and academic excellence.
