Puducherry Technological University

Puducherry Technological University (PTU) is the first state university in the Union Territory of Puducherry. It was officially established on September 5, 2020, following the elevation of Pondicherry Engineering College (PEC), which was founded in 1985 under the 7th Five-Year Plan. PTU has quickly gained prominence as a leading institution, offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in Engineering, Technology, Science, Management, and Entrepreneurship.

The university boasts a team of highly qualified faculty members and a diverse student body from across the country. Its 185.8-acre lush green campus, located along the scenic Bay of Bengal, provides an ideal environment for academic and research excellence. Fully Free Education for Differently-Abled Students

All differently-abled students are eligible for full tuition fee waivers, ensuring accessible education.

Merit Scholarship

The top three students in the P.G. admission entrance exam receive scholarships of ₹2,000, ₹1,500, and ₹1,000 per month, respectively, for the first semester. In subsequent semesters, students securing the highest Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) continue to receive the scholarship at the same rate.

Merit-Cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship
Twenty percent of students in each P.G. program can avail of this scholarship, which considers both merit and parental income (not exceeding ₹2,50,000 per annum). The amount is ₹750 per month, provided students maintain 70% attendance and pass all registered subjects.

Special Course Scholarships

• M.Sc. Marine Biology & Disaster Management: ₹1,000 per month

Research Fellowships

• UGC/CSIR NET JRF: ₹25,000 per month for two years, increasing to ₹28,000 later.
  
  
• NBHM Scholarship: For students clearing the National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM) Exam.
  
  
• SC/ST/OBC Scholarships: Provided by state governments.
  
  
• Rajiv Gandhi & Maulana Azad Fellowships: For SC/ST/OBC and minority Ph.D. scholars.

Other Scholarships

• Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child: For PG students.

• Puducherry Government Scholarships: Merit-based scholarships and fellowships for residents of Puducherry.
  
  
• DBT Special Fund: ₹5,000 per month for 23 M.Sc. Biotechnology students.
  
  
• Madanjeet Singh Group Scholarship: Covers tuition, hostel, and living expenses for M.Tech (Green Energy Technology) and M.A (South Asian Studies) students from SAARC countries.
  
  
• MNRE Fellowships: 15 M.Tech and 5 Ph.D. fellowships for GATE/CSIR-qualified candidates in renewable energy.
  
  
• GATE Scholarship: Provided by UGC for M.Tech students who qualify for GATE.
