Brainware University Kolkata, a part of the Brainware Group in West Bengal with a 35-year legacy in education, was founded with the mission to contribute to nation-building through research, innovation, and quality education. The visionary Chancellor, Mr. Phalguni Mookhopadhayay, has played a pivotal role in transforming Brainware University into a leading center of learning.

Established in 2016 as a UGC-recognized private state university, Brainware offers over 70+ programs, including PhD, PG, UG, and Diploma courses, serving more than 19,000 students on its expansive, green, ragging-free campus.

The university boasts a well-equipped library with national and international journals, alongside a robust academic environment. In addition to education, sports, recreational activities, seminars, workshops, and creative fests are integral parts of the student experience. Clubs like photography, tech, and communication clubs help students pursue their interests. Even during the pandemic, uninterrupted online classes ensured continued learning.

Scholarships available at Brainware University

Brainware University offers a variety of scholarships to support students based on their academic performance, sports achievements, and financial need. The Brainware Academic Excellence Scholarship (Vidyalankar) provides full tuition fee waivers for students with 95% or more marks in their qualifying exams, while those with 90% to 94% marks receive half fee waivers. Toppers from institutions with less than 90% get an additional Rs. 25,000 off.

The Brainware Merit Scholarship (Medha Britti) is available for students with at least 60% academic performance throughout their education. Scholarships are awarded based on 10+2 marks for various UG and PG programs, with amounts ranging from Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 70,000 depending on the marks achieved.

The Brainware Sports Scholarship (Krira Ratna) offers full tuition fee waivers for international or national-level medalists, half fee waivers for state-level athletes, and 25% waivers for district-level achievers.

In addition, the Brainware Degree Enhancement Scholarship (Vidya Jyoti) supports students pursuing post-graduation after completing their undergraduate degrees.

WBMDFC Scholarship supports minority and economically weaker students in West Bengal, while the Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship assists meritorious students from economically backward families to pursue higher studies in the state.

Note that scholarships are not applicable for certain programs and international students. Additionally, students can only avail of one scholarship scheme at a time.
